Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Soccer fell 4–2 to Southeastern on Wednesday afternoon at the Warrior Turf Field in Babson Park, dropping the home opener despite a spirited first-half response and a late goal. The Fire struck just 1:46 into the match, but the Warriors leveled before halftime and continued to push late, with Thea Roque's 87th-minute finish closing the gap before the final whistle.
After conceding early to SEU's Sarah Irurozki, Webber settled and fashioned chances through set pieces and wide play. The breakthrough came in the 35th minute when Melissa Del Valle slammed home the equalizer, finishing a tidy buildup started by Ana Buenrostro down the right for a 1–1 score line at the break. Goalkeeper Francesca Magnotti kept the Warriors on level terms with five first-half saves, including stops in the 4th, 22nd, and 45th minutes.
Southeastern seized control with a decisive second-half surge. Irurozki completed a three-goal performance with strikes in the 65th and 75th minutes, and Rebecca Laface added an 81st-minute tally to make it 4–1. Webber refused to fade: Roque halved the deficit in the 87th minute, and the Warriors continued to press into the closing moments. Magnotti finished with seven saves as Webber weathered a 19–9 shot disadvantage (11–4 on target).
Princess Agustin anchored the back line, while Olof Sigurdardottir and Morgan Myers helped drive the Warriors' midfield tempo. Del Valle led the attack with two shots—both on frame—and Roque added two attempts and the late goal. The matchup drew over 100 fans and featured two SEU cautions; corners favored the Fire 5–2. Webber moves to 2–1–0 and will look to bounce back in its next outing.
