Warriors Sweep Lions

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International University Warriors completed a commanding three-game SUN Conference sweep over the Florida Memorial University Lions, demonstrating strong pitching, timely hitting, and effective defense throughout the series.

Game 1: Webber International 2, Florida Memorial 0

Webber jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when S. Proctor drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring R. Lamoureaux. In the second, H. Saylor added another run with an RBI bunt that plated L. Watkins. Pitching dominated the rest of the way, with Webber's pitchers neutralizing FMU's offense. FMU struggled to capitalize despite runners on base, leaving multiple scoring opportunities stranded, leading to a 2-0 Warriors victory.

Game 2: Webber International 9, Florida Memorial 5

The Warriors exploded offensively in the second game, highlighted by a five-run second inning sparked by a three-run hit from H. Saylor. FMU attempted a comeback in the late innings, scoring five total runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, but it wasn't enough. Webber's consistent hitting, including timely doubles by T. Romero and R. Lamoureaux, kept the Warriors comfortably ahead for a 9-5 win.

Game 3: Webber International 4, Florida Memorial 0

In the series finale, Webber's pitching and defense took center stage, shutting out the Lions. J. Bland was the offensive hero, delivering a clutch three-run homer in the fifth inning, sealing the victory. Webber's pitchers allowed only scattered hits, effectively shutting down FMU's lineup, leading to a 4-0 shutout.

The Warriors' series sweep was marked by their ability to perform consistently under pressure, leveraging key hits and maintaining strong defensive stands when challenged by the Lions' offense.
