Box Score Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Basketball team honored Gabriel Sorensen, Jovon Rosse, and Jordan Golden for Senior Night against cross lake rivals Warner University. The Warriors played tough but ultimately fell 82-70.
The game started with Webber International taking an early lead behind Jovon Rosse and Jordan Golden, who combined for key buckets, including a three-pointer from Golden to give Webber an 8-2 lead.
However, Warner (FL) responded with a strong inside presence, led by Jack Voth and Jonathan Joseph, who scored in the paint to keep the game close. A three-pointer by Norris Jamal tied the game at 21-21, sparking a shift in momentum.
Joshua Glesil and Jack Voth both knocked down threes, giving Warner 34-24 lead with three minutes left in the half.
Webber fought back late in the half, with Rosse and Golden finding the basket, cutting the deficit to 37-32 at the break.
The second half opened with Webber trying to close the gap, as Golden scored back-to-back layups to bring Webber within 42-40. However, Warner responded immediately, with Darling and Voth scoring in transition, extending their lead again.
The teams traded baskets until Warner took control midway through the second half. Jamal Norris' fast-break dunk and a three-pointer from Voth gave Warner a 55-48 lead, forcing Webber to call a timeout.
Webber tried to mount a comeback, cutting the lead to 63-60 with six minutes remaining after Orlando Thomas scored inside. But Warner quickly regained control, hitting key free throws and executing defensively to force turnovers. Blaize Darling and Jamal Norris combined for a late scoring surge, stretching Warner's lead to double digits.
In the final minute, Webber was forced to foul, and Warner capitalized, making their free throws to seal the 12-point victory.
