Warriors Avenge OT Loss To Falcons on the Road

Temple Terrace, FL – The Webber International Men's Basketball team turned in a complete road performance on Tuesday night, knocking off Florida College 80–70 in non-conference action. The Warriors shot just under 50 percent from the field, controlled the glass, and led for most of the final 30 minutes to move to 5–4 on the season.

Florida College (3–8) surged in front early, pushing its advantage to 9–4 before Webber settled in. Once the Warriors' offense found its rhythm, the visitors seized control with a balanced attack. Webber poured in 42 first-half points, fueled by paint touches and rhythm threes, and went into the locker room with a 42–35 lead after outscoring the Falcons 32–16 in the lane in the period.

After the break, Webber continued to keep Florida at arm's length, answering each Falcons push with timely scoring and strong rebounding. The Warriors' advantage grew to as many as 15 late in the second half and they never surrendered the lead, finishing the night with a 43–39 edge on the boards and only three turnovers while holding Florida to 35.9 percent shooting and 5-of-31 from three.

Landon Tillman led all scorers with 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, while adding six rebounds and two assists. Thomas Morgan posted an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double on 5-of-6 shooting, and Jashawnn Bates joined them in double figures with 11 points and three made threes. Deon Brown added 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists, Johnny Torrence Jr. chipped in nine points and five boards, and Nirobi Peeler Jr. knocked down a pair of threes for six points off the bench as Webber connected on 10 triples and 49.2 percent from the floor in the victory.

After the game, Head Coach Gabriel Rutledge was proud of his teams effort and growth as a unit.

"Great team win vs a well coached and talented team. Collectively our defensive effort is really good right now. Our focus in practice has been to get better defensive even when shots don't fall. As coaches we measure guys on how they do with the things that don't require talent. Are we defending? Are we rebounding? Are we taking care of the ball? Are they locked in on the scouting report? Are they diving on the floor for loose balls? Those are the things that we care about and tonight we did all those things at a high level. I'm proud of our team's growth while also focusing on getting better. Go Warriors."
