Warriors Fall in OT to Maple Leafs

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Basketball team dropped a hard-fought, one-possession decision to Goshen (IN), 69-68, in overtime Tuesday afternoon in Babson Park. Webber led by as many as 11 late in the first half and took a 33-22 advantage into the break, but Goshen answered with a 37-26 second half to force extra time tied at 59. In the overtime period, the Maple Leafs edged the Warriors 10-9 to escape with the win.

Deon Brown powered Webber offensively with 21 points, knocking down five 3-pointers while playing 42 minutes, and he added three assists and four rebounds. Thomas Morgan posted a strong all-around line of 13 points, eight boards, and three blocks, while Nirobi Peeler Jr. chipped in 12 points and three assists, going 4-for-4 at the line. As a team, Webber finished with a 35-31 rebounding edge and recorded four blocks, but committed 16 turnovers that proved costly in a game decided by one point.

Goshen's comeback was fueled by balanced scoring and opportunistic defense, turning Webber miscues into a 19-11 points-off-turnovers advantage. Marcus Northern led the Maple Leafs with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Jacob Carlson and Deecon Hill each added 11, helping Goshen stay within striking distance before pulling even in regulation. In overtime, Goshen did just enough at the free-throw line and on timely possessions to hold off Webber's push and secure the 69-68 final.
