Warriors Take Down Eagles Behind 20 Points from Tillman

Babson Park, FL – Webber International Men's Basketball used a balanced offensive attack and timely perimeter shooting to earn a 79–72 home victory over Baptist University of Florida on Saturday afternoon, moving the Warriors to 4–4 on the season and 1–1 in early conference play.

Landon Tillman set the tone from the opening tip, attacking the rim and knocking down perimeter shots as Webber raced in front. The Warriors knocked down seven threes in the first half and got a big boost from their depth, with multiple reserves chipping in during a 42–35 opening-half advantage. Deon Brown's early triples, along with contributions from Ethan Taylor and Johnny Torrence Jr., helped Webber answer each BUF run and carry momentum into the locker room.

Out of the break, Webber continued to control the tempo. Brown stayed hot from beyond the arc, while Tillman orchestrated the offense and repeatedly found shooters and cutters for clean looks. Jacob Rice provided energy on both ends, crashing the glass and stretching the floor, as the Warriors pushed their lead to as many as 15 points midway through the second half. Baptist University of Florida pieced together a late surge to trim the margin to single digits, but Webber's composure and perfect shooting at the foul line closed the door in the final minutes.

Tillman led the Warriors with 20 points on an ultra-efficient 7-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three, while adding six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Brown followed with 15 points and four made threes, and Rice supplied 13 points, six rebounds, two steals and a block off the bench. Torrence Jr. chipped in nine points and three rebounds, Taylor posted seven points, six boards and two assists, and Webber's bench piled up 29 points overall. As a team, the Warriors shot 44.8 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from three (11-of-27) and a perfect 16-of-16 at the free-throw line, while winning the rebounding battle 36–25 and turning 18 BUF turnovers into 18 points on the way to the home victory.
