Warriors Gain 406 Yards on the Ground in Dominant Senior Day Performance Against Nighthawks

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Football put together its most complete performance of the season on Saturday in Babson Park, overwhelming Thomas University 61–0 in Sun Conference play.  The Warriors scored on their first possession, never looked back, and outgained the Night Hawks 565–174 while posting their second shutout of the year. The Warriors also honored 11 seniors for their contributions to the team for Senior Day prior to kickoff. Caden Morrell, Tim Young, Blake Birchler, Jonathan St. Jacque, David Thompson Jr., Dorian Manuel, Jaxson Rivera, Marquese Carter, Jordon Carter, Henry Benito, and Jose Lorenzo all end their Warrior careers with this dominant victory.

The opening quarter set the tone. After a short kickoff, Webber went 61 yards in four plays, capped by a 6-yard touchdown run from Quinton Moore just 1:50 into the game. Moore later broke free for a 92-yard scoring run, flipping the field and pushing the lead to 14–0. A late 39-yard field goal from Rourke Davis made it 17–0 after one, while the Warrior defense forced multiple three-and-outs and never let Thomas settle in.

Webber blew the game open in the second quarter. The defense backed the Night Hawks up near their own goal line, and MarQuez Griffin knifed through for a safety to make it 19–0. The offense immediately capitalized: Blake Birchler hit Terrell Holt for a 37-yard touchdown, and D'Markus Mathis punched in scoring runs of 25 and 8 yards as the Warriors rolled to a 40–0 halftime advantage. Thomas' only promising drive of the half ended on downs, and the visitors finished the day 0-for-2 in the red zone.

The Warriors stayed sharp after the break. In the third quarter, Webber marched 70 yards in nine plays, with Birchler finding Moore for a 15-yard touchdown and a 47–0 lead. The ground game continued to wear down the Night Hawks in the fourth, as Dorian Manuel capped a 75-yard drive with a 10-yard rushing score before Noel Santiago-Rodriguez connected with Makai Elder for a 9-yard touchdown to close the scoring at 61–0. The defense added two second-half interceptions to slam the door and preserve the shutout.
