Miami Gardens, FL – The Webber International Football team controlled the ball for 37:12 and matched Florida Memorial in first downs (19–20), but a 28–6 surge spanning the second and third quarters and a 90-yard pick-six proved decisive as the Warriors dropped a Sun Conference road tilt, 42–19.
How it happened
1st Quarter
FMU struck first on a 45-yard TD pass at 10:48, but Webber answered with a composed, 74-yard march capped by Trent Grotjan's 12-yard keeper at 5:31 and AJ Hitt's PAT to level it.
2nd Quarter
The Lions stacked two scores — a 6-yard Jerodd Sims run (14:02) and a 29-yard Sims TD catch (10:02) — to take control. Webber punched back late as Grotjan hit Cory Conklin from 13 yards at 3:38; the Warriors' two-point rush was stopped, sending it 21–13 to halftime.
3rd Quarter
FMU reopened with another Sims 6-yard TD run (10:27), then landed the back-breaker when Joshua McMullen jumped a route and returned an interception 90 yards at 4:20. A 12-yard TD run in the final seconds of the period made it 42–13.
4th Quarter
Webber got on the board early in the fourth with a touchdown at 10:41 to cut the margin to 42–19; the scoring play is recorded in the XML without an individual scorer. The Warrior defense then forced a kickoff return TD off the board on a Lion penalty and kept FMU off the board the rest of the way.
