Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Volleyball team pushed their Crooked Lake Rivals to the limit but fell in five, 23–25, 13–25, 25–16, 28–26, 15–11, to Warner on a Wednesday night SUN Conference matchup in Babson Park. The Warriors controlled the first two sets behind efficient side-out ball and terminal swings from the pins, before the Royals flipped the match with a dominant third, edged a thriller in the fourth, and closed the fifth set in the race to 15.
Webber's first-set win hinged on a late push and a Warner service error on set point (25–23). The Warriors then blitzed Set 2 with a long scoring run fueled by Kaylee Hunt and Kalyn Morgan, plus a service ace from Janniliz Nazario, to take it 25–13 and a 2–0 lead.
Warner responded with a 25–16 third, riding a hot hand from Leah Cooley and a string of sideouts that forced a deciding stretch. The fourth turned into a classic: Webber erased multiple deficits with kills from Hunt and Morgan and timely swings by Julia De Jesus on the other side, but the Royals survived in extra points, 28–26, to force Set 5.
In the fifth, Warner's serve-pass steadied and Cooley, De Jesus, and Sofia Suarez combined for just four errors as the visitors sealed it, 15–11. Webber finished with 56 kills at .211 hitting and 79 digs, while Warner logged 68 kills at .226 with 87 digs.
