In the 61st minute, Parkinson was tested again, making his second save of the day. In the 68th minute, Sho Furukawa took a shot on goal which was partially saved by the goalie, after it deflected off the post, Connor Wood was there to send it home and double the lead to 2-0. The Warriors continued to pressure the Eagles, but were unable to find the back of the net again. In the 81st minute, Parkinson made his third and final save of the afternoon, as the Warriors took down the Eagles 2-0.
After the win, Head Coach Phillip Maestas Bohn said he was proud of his team and their creativity during the match.
"Happy to get in a non conference win today in Jacksonville. I thought the boys had to problem solve some different things so it was a good experience for us. Ultimately we created a bunch of chances but didn't do well to finish. It was great to get some different boys some minutes today and happy to get our first clean sheet of the season. Now we can recover, recharge and prepare for a trip to Miami and a conference match against St Thomas on Wednesday. Lucas was our man of the match, playing all 90 minutes anchoring our backline. He was calm and confident and looked very good in his performance."
The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday. September 18th when they travel to Miami Gardens to take on the St. Thomas Bobcats.
