Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Baseball team continued their historic season with a 12-5 win over the Keiser Seahawks in game two of the SUNC tournament.
Dylan Martin got the start on the mound, pitching seven complete innings. The senior had no earned runs off four hits, and struck out six batters. Brighton Taylore came in for relief in the bottom of the 8th inning before Gabriel Dorsey shut the door on the Seahawks.
Christian Campbell had an outstanding day going 5-for-5, picking up three RBIs and three runs. Richard Rodriguez added three runs on three hits for the Warriors. Camren Carroll, Joseph Becker, and Tyren Milliner all added two hits, while Becker was walked three additional times.
Dylan Martin worked swiftly, getting three outs before the Seahawks could score. The Warriors responded with a run off the bat of Ryan Recio.
While the Seahawks got on base in the top of the second inning, Martin kept the Warriors ahead with two strike outs and a flyout. A walk for Gabriel Cruz and single for Richard Rodriguez set up Christian Campbell for a base-clearing RBI double. Webber capitalized on a Seahawk error to bring across their fourth run of the night. Tyren Milliner made it 6-0 with a one-out RBI double.
Cruz led off the top of the third inning with a single to left field. Three singles in a row made it 7-0 for Webber. A Camren Carroll sac fly extended the lead to eight for the Warriors. Recio took a hit-by-pitch for run number nine, before an RBI walk for Brodey Neveker made it 10 unanswered for WIU.
KU brought three across in the bottom of the third inning to cut the Webber lead to seven.
Two scoreless innings were broken up with a two-out RBI double for Joseph Becker. Webber then added another run in the top of the 8th inning off the bat of Carroll.
Brighton Taylor came in to pitch for Webber in the bottom of the 8th inning. Taylor allowed two runs on two hits until he got out number three with a swinging strikeout.
Gabriel Dorsey closed game two of the weekend with a ground out and a double play.
The Warriors will be back to take the number one seeded Southeastern Fire tomorrow at 11 AM.
