Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Lacrosse team hosted the Keiser Seahawks for their annual Swab for Saxton game as well as Senior Day to honor the Seniors who helped build the Webber Men's Lacrosse team. The Warriors fought hard in a back-and-forth game but ultimately fell to the Seahawks 14-12.
Blake Nelson had the first goal of the game off an assist from Christian Tapia. After the Seahawks were able to tie it up, Tapia scored himself, making it 2-1 Warriors. Cade McCarron had the third goal for the Warriors before Tapia scored on a man-up opportunity off an assist from Houston Finlayson to make it 4-2 heading into the second quarter.
Tapia scored first in the second quarter, with an assist from Jeremiah Loo. The Seahawks would quickly take the advantage in the second quarter. Despite multiple saves from starting goalie Ryan Prylinski, Keiser was able to score eight unanswered goals to take a 10-5 lead into the half.
Nick Sheaffer started off the third quarter with a man-up goal thanks to an assist from Chase Jackson. Blake Nelson found the net next off a feed from Tapia, and Loo scored next, making it 10-8 Keiser. The Seahawks answered back with two goals of their own before Samuel Henry beat the third-quarter buzzer going top shelf with a pass from Alex West, making it 12-9 heading into the final frame.
Loo got the first goal in the fourth quarter, as Greyson Davidson found his stick early. Keiser would score their final two goals of the game with 12 minutes left in the game. Jackson and Nelson scored the final two goals for the Warriors as they were unable to score in the final five minutes of the game.
Tapia led the team with five points, off of three goals and two assists. Loo and Nelson each had three, while Jackson had two. Luke Pallone led the team with five ground balls, while also going 8-10 in the faceoff circle. Davidson and Joshua Cargile each had four ground balls. Dane Fasano led the team with three caused turnovers while Davidson, Cargile, and Steven Landsman each had two. Prylinski ended his day with 18 saves in the goal.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, April 20th when they host the SCAD-Savannah Bees in the first round of the AAC Tournament.
