Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Lacrosse team hosted the Life University Running Eagles on Saturday afternoon in an AAC clash. The Warriors held the Running Eagles to three goals as starting goalie Ryan Prylinski had 17 saves on the afternoon.
Houston Finlayson got the scoring started for the Warriors on a man-up opportunity, with an assist from Chase Jackson. Luke Pallone scored next for the Warriors as he was assisted by Sheaffer. Jeremiah h Loo scored the next two for the Warriors with assists from Sheaffer and Jackson before the Running Eagles would get on the board towards the end of the quarter. Webber headed to the second quarter up 4-1.
Finlayson and Sheaffer scored the first two goals of the second quarter, with Loo assisting Finlayson while Sheaffer's was unassisted. Daniel McClure and Christian Tapia would be the next two Warriors to find the back of the net, making it 8-1 Webber. This score would hold to the end of the half, with Prylinksi making a save on the final shot of the half.
McClure would start the scoring in the third quarter. Neither team would be able to score much as both teams played tight defense in the quarter. Life would get on the board again, but a goal from Sheaffer would negate it. Webber held a 10-2 lead heading into the fourth.
Finlayson would be the first to score again, off another assist from Jackson. Sheaffer scored soon after to give Webber a 10-point lead off the feed from Blake Nelson. Life would get their final goal of the game, before Alex West, Beau Masters, and Loo scored the final three goals of the game to give Webber a 15-3 victory.
Sheaffer led the team with six points, netting three goals and producing three assists. Loo and Jackson each had four points, as Loo had a hat trick and an assist, while Jackson had four assists. Masters, Dane Fasano, and Steven Landsman each had two ground balls, while Tay'Quan Bryan led the team with three caused turnovers.
The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, March 21st when they host the SCAD-Savannah Bees on the Warrior Turf Field.
