Four Warriors Hit Double-Digits as Webber Dominated the Royals

Lake Wales, FL – The Webber International men's basketball team traveled to take on their crosstown rival, Warner. Webber took control of the game from the jump and took the crown 76-63. With this, the Warriors move to 17-8 on the season, and 5-6 in SUNC play.

Eden Holt had another electric night, as he netted 21 points, had seven rebounds, nine assists, and two steals. Dante Sofia also had an excellent game. The senior notched 13 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, and a block. Cooper Peterson continues to impact the Warriors offense with 13 points and two defensive rebounds. Jordan Golden led the Warriors with eight rebounds in addition to 11 points and an assist to boost the offense.

Warner opened up the scoring with a quick jumper. The Warriors got things started with four straight points from Sofia. Another Royals' bucket was met with five points for Webber off the hands of Golden and Sofia. This continued to be the trend, as the Warriors responded to Warner's free throws with a layup from Sofia and a triple from Peterson. Zachary O'Callaghan got in on the scoring with back-to-back layups to extend the Warriors' lead to 11 early into the game.

The Warriors outscored the Royals 13-8 as the lead grew to 16 with seven minutes left in the first half. A layup from Holt coupled with a made free throw kept the momentum in the Warriors' favor. A free throw from Golden sent the Warriors to the break up 38-27.

Webber kept the same energy to open the second half as Holt drilled a three to keep the Warriors up. The Warriors continued to plow ahead as they went on a 12-11 run over the next six minutes. WIU outscored the Royals 12-3 in three minutes with buckets from Golden, Peterson, and Orri Hilmarsson. The Warriors went 8-8 from the charity stripe to close the game with the 13-point victory.

The Warriors will be back on the court on Saturday, February 17th as they are set to travel to Miami Gardens, FL to take on the Florida Memorial Lions at 4 PM.
