Four Warriors in Double Digits as Webber takes down Beacon at Home

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Basketball hosted the Beacon College Blazers in the Warriors Home Opener Tuesday evening. Webber led for a majority of the contest, taking down the Blazers 92-66.

The Warriors got out running with a layup from J Curry to start the scoring for the Warriors. Renae Brant scored next for Webber with a three before a free throw from Curry gave Webber six points on the board. Kori Wimberly made a layup before another three from Brant made it 11-8 Webber. Wimberly, Curry, and Jaiden Ross scored the next seven points for Webber on two twos and a three. Ross had another layup while Curry went perfect from the Charity Stripe, making it 22-12 Webber. Zeri Tyler got in on the action before another Brant three ended the first quarter with the score 27-12 Webber.

Brant, Wimberly, and Curry had a jumper, fast break layup, and a three respectively to mark the first points in the second quarter for the Warriors. Ross and Curry scored again before Kahliya Gaitor got in on the action as well. Ross, Taleah Jones, and Gaitor all scored to extend Webber's lead to 46-18. Wimberly got on the board once more before the end of the half, as the Warriors took a 48-22 lead.

Brant went 1-2 from the charity stripe before Curry hit a two and a three back-to-back for the Warriors. Brant and Curry each scored again before a make from Wimberly made it 61-34. Jones hit a three, and Wimberly was sent to the line, sinking both shots. Curry, Jones, and Wimberly finished out the scoring in the third quarter, making it 74-48 heading into the final quarter.

Gaitor hit a two to start the quarter, while Brant hit a three to make it 79-53. Neri Moreau went 1-2 from the line, while Curry and Ross hit back-to-back buckets soon after. Curry was sent to the line again making both, while Gaitor, Jones, and Wimberly ended off the scoring for the Warriors with three straight twos. The Warriors took down the Blazers 92-66.

Four of the five Warrior starters ended the game with double digit points. Curry led the team with 25 points, while also grabbing eight rebounds and four assists. Brant had 19 points, seven boards, and seven assists. Wimberly notched a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Ross had 10 points and seven boards.

The Warriors will be back in action on November 16th when they host the Ave Maria Gyrenes to open SUN Conference play at 2:00 P.M.
