Tyrone Nesby IV led the team with 27 points, six rebounds, and a steal. Jovon Rosse stepped into a big role tonight playing 23 minutes, netting 11 points, grabbing two boards, and had a steal and a block. Eden Holt's presence was felt as he notched seven points, had six rebounds, and four assists.
The Bobcats struck first with a jumper and two free throws to make it 4-0. O'Callaghan opened the scoring for the Warriors with a layup assisted by Holt. Both teams traded baskets, while two free throws from Jovon Rosse kept it a three-point game early in the first half. STU went on a 28-9 run to extend the lead to 22.
A jumper from Rosse was just what the Warriors needed to change the tide Webber outscored the Bobcats 11-9 in the final five minutes. Webber kept battling as triples by Sofia and Nesby paired with a bucket from O'Callaghan and a free throw from Holt boosted the Warriors to 30 points just before the break.
STU opened the second half with a quick three pointer, before Nesby answered with a jumper. Over the next 10 minutes, Nesby netted 10 of the Warriors' 16 points.
Webber continued to outscore the Bobcats 14-10 and cut the deficit down to 16 with scores from Nesby, Holt, Buchanon, and Rosse. A Nesby jumper sealed the deal on this one, as the Bobcats walked away with the 84-64 win.
The Warriors will have a short break before heading into the second round of SUNC play as they host the Keiser Seahawks next Saturday, February 3rd at 4:00 PM
