Mobile, AL. – The Webber International Women's Volleyball team finished up the University of Mobile tournament Saturday morning, facing a familiar foe in the Florida College Falcons. Despite a competitive match, the Warriors were unable to overcome unforced errors and fell to the Falcons 3-0.

Webber took advantage early in set 1 of Florida College errors, establishing a 4-1 lead early. Florida College responded, scoring the next three points to tie the game at 4-4. Both teams would score back and forth with neither able to pull ahead by more than two. Kills by Teodora Ranitovic and Jaizah Anderson allowed the Warriors to tie the game at 10, but a tie score would be the closest the Warriors would get in set 1, as Florida College went on a 15-8 run to take set 1 25-18. The Falcons were able to take advantage of attacking errors by the Warriors.

The Warriors and the Falcons traded the first 5 points of set 2 with Webber taking an early 3-2 lead. Kills by Savanna Wilhite and Paysee Crow allowed the Warriors to up their lead to 6-4. Florida College went on a three-point swing, taking the lead before a service error re-tied the game 7-7. Points would be scored back and forth until both teams sat tied again at 10 apiece. Florida College scored three straight before Head Coach Justin Dee called a timeout to try and ice the Falcons, who scored one more point before the Warriors went on a four-point run of their own, capped off with a kill by Bailey Sikkema, to tie the game at 14. Kills by Cintia Lorena and Nadia Reid kept the Warriors in set 2, counteracting and capitalizing on errors from both teams. A kill by Reid closed the Warriors' gap to two points at 21-19 before three points going back and forth put the Warriors down 3, 23-20. The team had one final push, as kills by Wilhite and Lorena coupled with a Florida College attacking error tied the game at 23, but the Falcons scored the final two points, capturing set 2 25-23.

After getting the first point of set 3, Webber conceded 7 straight points to the Falcons and were quickly down 7-1. The Warriors did not give up however, as kills by Lorena, Reid, Sikkema and Rylee Bolser helped Webber climb back into the game and lessen the deficit to 3, 11-8. Webber would proceed to be out-scored 14-8, as kills from Lorena, Bolser, Wilhite, and Lily Arnold would prove ineffective against the Falcons.

Wilhite and Lorena led the team in kills with 8 and 7 respectively, with Wilhite also tallying 5 blocks. Crow led the team with 19 assists, while Bailey Berger and Abigail Baxter led the team in digs with 10 and 7.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, September 1st at the Truett McConnell Invitational where they will face the St. Andrews Knights at 1:00 P.M.
