BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 31, 2023) – The Webber International University softball team returned to Nancy Nichols Field to host the Seahawks of Keiser University on Friday afternoon. A pitching duel ended in favor of the Seahawks after they scored the lone run of the game, 1-0.

The Warriors (10-21 overall, 4-9 SUN) looked to
Jenna Chaudoin to start on the mound in game one. She tossed 7.0 innings and allowed just one run on four hits. Despite tallying six hits, Keiser (17-13, 6-4) was able to hold Webber scoreless.

The lone run of the game came in the fifth inning on an unearned run due to an error. The Warriors came close to scoring in the second inning as they had the bases loaded, but the Seahawks were able to work themselves out of the inning.

Genesis Aviles ended the game 2-for-3 with a double and a single.
Kimmie Cheung and
Samantha Proctor both ended 1-for-2 on the day while
Brandy Barquin was 1-for-3.
Nicole Gutierrez had the only other hit for the Warriors on a pinch-hitting appearance.
