BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 2, 2023) - The Webber International University women's lacrosse team hosted Division-III Cabrini University for game three of a five game home-stretch. The Warriors were unable to keep up with the torrid scoring pace of the Cavaliers in a 22-5 defeat on the Warrior Turf Field.
The Warriors (3-2 overall) were outshot 39-6 in total for the game. The Cavaliers (2-1) also forced Webber into 14 turnovers.
Cabrini started off the game by scoring six-straight goals in just the opening four minutes of the game. The Warriors picked up their first goal of the game roughly two minutes later after
Bryce Gerber connected with
Kaitlyn Patterson who found the back of the cage. The Cavaliers went on to score six more throughout the first quarter.
Gerber netted twice for the Warriors in the second quarter. Unfortunately, Cabrini continued to outscore Webber 5-2 for the quarter and earned a 17-3 lead at the break.
The Warriors scored twice in the third quarter on a goal by
Sydney Britton on an assist from
Natalie Bartek followed by a solo-effort from
Makayla Senter.
Leading the way offensively was Gerber with two goals and an assist for a total of three points. She was followed by Patterson, Senter, and Britton who all added a goal each while Bartek added an assist for her first point of the season thus far.
Next up, the Warriors will host Tennessee Wesleyan University on Tuesday, March 7th at 1 p.m. before taking on Emmanuel College later that week on Thursday, March 9th.
