BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 13, 2023) – Webber International University Director of Athletics, Brad Niethammer, announced the hiring of
Justin Dee as Head Women's Volleyball Coach on Monday morning.
"Coach Dee brings a very experienced resume to Webber," said Niethammer. "With his experience and past success, we are looking forward to him getting our women's volleyball program back competing for Sun Conference Championships."
Dee joins the Warriors after having served as the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at Division-II Rollins College for the 2022 season. He served under head coach Mika Robinson and was responsible for opponents side-out offensive tendencies and serving tendencies.
Prior to Rollins, Dee served as the head coach at Division-III Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi for nine seasons from 2013-2021. During his tenure as head coach of the Blazers, he coached seven NCCAA Mideast All-Region athletes, three NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honorees, 10 ASC All-Conference honorees, two ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honorees, one ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor recipient, and 39 conference All-Academic winners. Under his direction, the Blazers earned the SSAC Team Sportsmanship Award in 2014 and the ASC Team Sportsmanship Award for three consecutive years from 2016-2018.
Throughout his collegiate coaching career, Dee has amassed 189 career wins, including stops at Lyon College in Arkansas and Simpson College in California. Dee led Lyon to its first-ever NAIA Regional Tournament berth, and at Simpson he was twice named the NCCAA West Region Coach of the Year after posting third and fifth-place finishes at the NCCAA National Championships.
In addition to his collegiate coaching career, Dee has coached at Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham, Alabama, where he led the team to second and third place finishes in the state playoffs and was named the 2009 Birmingham News Coach of the Year. Dee also led the Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida, to the semifinals of the FHSAA Class 7A playoffs in 2012.
"I am very thankful to Brad Niethammer and the hiring committee for the opportunity to lead this wonderful program and these amazing young women," Dee commented. "Being in the gym for the short time I was able to spend with them, there is something special happening with Webber volleyball. There is a group of women who are hungry to bring the program back to a championship caliber. I am so excited that I am able to step in and add value to each of those women and help the program to compete for championships in The Sun Conference."
