Hialeah, FL – The Webber International Women's Volleyball team traveled to Hialeah Friday night to take on the Florida National Conquistadors. The Warriors bounced back in a big way, sweeping the Conquistadors 3-0.
Nadia Reid got the first kill for the Warriors, followed soon after by a block from Teodora Ranitovic, and a kill from Bailey Sikkema. Jaizah Anderson, Ranitovic, Reid, and Savanna Wilhite picked up the next five kills for the Warriors. Sikkema and Wilhite combined for a kill before Wilhite, Anderson, and Sikkema also picked up kills. Anderson and Ranitovic combined for a block as well as each picking up a kill. The Conquistadors had multiple errors before Reid and Sikkema netted kills and Paysee Crow laid it down with a service ace. Crow got a kill after that, before a block from Sikkema and Wilhite and one final kill from Sikkema secured the first set 25-13.
Reid, Sikkema, and Crow picked up the first three kills for Webber with Anderson adding a block as well. Anderson and Reid both got a kill before Ranitovic served up an ace. Crow, Wilhite, Sikkema, and Ranitovic picked up the next six kills for the Warriors. Reid had the next three kills for the Warriors with multiple FNU errors as well. With the Warriors trailing 24-22, Sikkema grabbed two straight kills with Anderson adding on a block as well. Sikkema and Ranitovic got the final kills for the Warriors as they took the second set 28-26.
Reid got the first kill for the Warriors in the third set, before Ranitovic got a block and a kill on consecutive points. Multiple errors from the Conquistadors made way for Reid to get four straight kills. More errors from FNU persisted before Sikkema got a kill, Wilhite got a block, and Crow had a service ace on back-to-back-to-back serves. Wilhite and Sikkema got the next three kills before Ranitovic got another block and kill to put the Warriors at match point. Crow secured the kill for the Warriors to take the third set 25-18 and the match 3-0.
Reid and Sikkema led the Warriors with 15 and 13 respectively. Ranitovic had four blocks, while Bailey Berger and Abigail Baxter had 13 and 12 digs. Crow led the team with 37 assists.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday November 4th when they travel to West Palm Beach to take on the Keiser Seahawks.
