Montgomery, AL – A dominant second half led the Warriors to a 96-77 win over Thomas University Friday evening. Three Warriors saw themselves with double-digit points as Webber outscored the Night Hawks 58-36 in the second half.
Eden Holt had his highest-scoring game of the season, as the junior netted 39 points and five rebounds. K'Shun Stokes was the second-leading scorer of the game with 22. The Warriors out blocked the Night Hawks as Tyrone Nesby IV grabbed two to go along with his 21 points of the night. Orri Hilmarrson and Cooper Peterson collected six points apiece. Jordan Golden made an impact on defense as he notched 10 rebounds.
Webber scored the first points of the game off a Nesby layup followed by a Holt jumper. Holt then hit two three-point shots to give the Warriors a 10-point lead. A13-point run gave the Night Hawks a three-point lead with 12:00 remaining. Both teams finished the first half in a neck-in-neck race before a three from Thomas set the Night Hawks ahead going into the half.
Holt opened the second half hitting three straight three pointers, to give Webber a one-point lead. A layup by Stokes extended the lead to three, before a three by Nesby, jumper by Holt, and layup by Golden had the Warriors up by six.
Holt would score eight of the next 10 for Webber, two free throws. Nesby drained a late three, while a scoop and score from Stokes gave the Warriors their 76th point of the night Stokes then grabbed the next six points to give the Warriors a 17-point lead with just over three minutes to play. A layup bu Stokes closed out the game as Webber took the lead 96-77.
Webber will be back on the court on Saturday, November 11th as they are set to host (RV) Florida College at 7:00 PM at Warner's Turner Athletic Facility.
