Warriors Battle at SUN/SSAC Crossover

Montgomery, AL – The Webber International Women's Basketball team faced off against the Stillman Tigers in the SUN/SSAC Crossover. The Warriors battled tough but were unable to overcome to Tigers, dropping the game 86-50.

Alisha Walker got the Warriors on the board in the first quarter, converting a layup off an assist from Jermaisa Klopsis. Walker would get the next points for Webber, converting on one of two free throws. Klopsis got two points on a layup with a feed from Triniti Lee before Samantha Pacheco suck two free throws. The Warriors finished the first quarter trailing the Tigers, 27-7.

Klopsis and Walker both scored first for Webber, as they both secured layups with assists from Pacheco and Lee. Klopsis sunk another layup before heading to the line and sinking two shots. Klopsis scored on a fast break, followed closely by a Jasmine Henry three-pointer. Webber went into halftime trailing 46-20.

Lee hit a jumper to start the second half and Walker quickly followed with another layup. Pacheco got a shot to fall before Klopsis and Walker both added another layup. Klopsis made another free throw and Pacheco sunk a three off of an assist from Walker. Pacheco's three was the last points for Webber in the third as they trailed 70-34.

Pacheco was fouled on a three-point shot, resulting in three free throws, of which she made one. Jaiden Ross took over, scoring the next seven points for the Warriors, scoring four points on shots, and netting the other three from the charity stripe. Tyler Zeri made her way to the line, sinking one of two, before Klopsis sunk two of her own. Kori Wimberly hit a three-pointer, and Kelsie Robinson made two free throws for the final points for the Warriors. The Warriors battled tough but ultimately fell to the Tigers 86-50.

Klopsis led the team in scoring, grabbing 15 points to go along with one block, one steal, one rebound, and three assists. Walker was the next leading scorer with nine points, one steal, one assist and five rebounds.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, November 3rd when they take on the University of Mobile Rams on the second day of the SUN/SSAC Crossover.
