Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. (November 6, 2022) - The Webber International University women's volleyball team hosted their Crooked Lake rivals, Warner University, in what was its regular-season finale and Senior Day on Saturday night. The Warriors ended a six-match losing streak with a comfortable 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-15) victory to end the regular season.

The Warriors (14-15 overall, 4-10 SUN) finished the match with a hitting percentage of .289 while limiting the Royals (4-21, 1-13) to hitting just .153 percent. Webber also outnumbered its opposition 48-38 in total kills.

The Royals won the first set of the match after a slow start by the Warriors. It took some time for Webber to grow into the match, but once it did it was smooth sailing from there. The second set was tight, with momentum swinging in either direction. The biggest of those swings came with the Warriors leading 13-12, as Warner then went on a 7-1 run to take a commanding 19-14 lead. Webber battled back, however, and tied the match at 22 apiece. Following a kill by the Royals, the Warriors scored three-straight to end the set and even the match at 1-1.

The Warriors then had their best set offensively as they hit .400 percent en route to a 25-11 victory. They were led by Bailey Sikkema who had seven kills in the third set alone. After taking the 2-1 lead in dominant fashion, it gave Webber the confidence it needed to close out the match in set number four. Trailing 7-6, the Warriors went on a 9-2 run that put them out in front 15-9. Leading 16-13, yet another 9-2 run by Webber would seal the 3-1 victory on senior night.

Offensively, Sikkema led the way with 15 kills, her second-highest tally of the season. She was followed by Nadia Reid with 11 kills and senior Teodora Ranitovic with nine. Senior-setter Amanda Vega ended the match with a season-high 28 assists and added eight digs as well. Senior Gabriela Lopez finished with eight digs as well and also tallied four service aces. Leading the team in digs was Bailey Berger with 14 in total while Ranitovic recorded six total blocks on defense. Ranitovic ends the regular season as the leader in total blocks with 98.

Webber now prepares for The Sun Conference Tournament in which it will travel to take on the Keiser University Seahawks on Tuesday, November 8th at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal.
