Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. (November 20, 2022) - The Webber International University football team matched up against Warner University in the Lake Caloosa Clash on Saturday night. The Warriors exploded for 41 points and 473 yards of total offense as they took down the Royals, 41-17, in their season-finale.

The Warriors (6-4 overall, 3-3 SUN) finished with a season-high in total yards of offense while limiting the Royals to just 253.

It would not take long for Webber to get on the board as it received the opening kickoff and proceeded to score on a seven-play, 75-yard drive. A 30-yard completion from Cody Braden to Everett Whitfield took the Warriors down into the redzone before a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jordon Taylor on the very next play earned them a 6-0 lead. After forcing the Royals to punt on their first possession, Webber began its next drive at its own seven-yard line. It took just one play to find the endzone yet again as Braden connected with Dashaun Young for a 93-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 13-0.

The Royals began the second half scoring on their first two possessions, first with a 37-yard field goal followed by a touchdown on the next drive, cutting the lead to just three points. The Warriors scored with less than a minute remaining in the half after Young reeled in his second touchdown catch of the day.

Webber picked up where it left off to begin the second half after a 32-yard completion to Jacob Moss took the Warriors down to the one-yard line. Roshaun Dudley carried the ball into the endzone on the next play, extending the lead to 27-10. With their next offensive drive, the Warriors scored once again on a 12-play, 74-yard drive that was capped by another one-yard touchdown rush by Dudley. With just under 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Webber scored once more thanks to a three-yard pass from Kristofer Sippel Jr. to Kayden Hill for his first receiving touchdown of the season, making it 41-10. The Royals scored only once more on a fumble returned for a touchdown but the Warriors would saw out the 41-17 road-victory.

The Warriors were led by Braden who ended with 283 yards passing and three touchdowns through the air. Sippel Jr. completed three of his four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown as well. Young finished with career-highs with both 142 yards receiving and two touchdown grabs. He was followed by Taylor with 49 yards and a touchdown and Moss with 40 receiving yards. On the ground, the Warriors were led by Terry Weems Jr. with 36 yards followed by Taylor Scarbrough with 31.

Defensively, Webber was led by Rocky O'Rourke with six total tackles including half a sack. Parker Snead finished with five total tackles while Khamari Smith added four tackles and tallied three pass-breakups as well. Trent Peacock recorded a tackle and grabbed his fifth interception of the season.

The Warriors end the season with a record of 6-4 and surpass five wins in a season for the first time since 2018. Webber retains the Lake Caloosa Cup after defeating the Royals for the second year in a row.
