Warrior's high-powered offense too much for Eagles

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. (September 11, 2021) – The second home match of the 2021 season for the Webber International University men's soccer team resulted in many goals for the Warriors as they took down the Pensacola Christian College Eagles by a score of 8-0, on the Warrior Grass Field.
 
The Warriors (3-1 overall) put the pressure on early, outshooting the Eagles (0-5) 12-3 in the first half.
 
The first goal of the match would come after Mateo Fernandez Sassoni would take the ball past the keeper and cross to Rodrigo Flores Iraheta, for an easy tap in at the back post to give the Warriors the lead 12 minutes in.
 
Approximately 15 minutes later, after a Webber cross into the box, a loose ball would find its way to the feet of Daniel Gamaonov who would skillfully back-heel the ball past the goalie to double the Warrior lead.
 
Webber would score twice more in the half, first from Giovanni Galeb in the 30th minute. In the 41st minute, an impressive through ball from Sebastian Lago would find freshman Berluche Prunier who would slot it in the bottom left hand corner of the goal for his first of his collegiate career. The Warriors would lead at the half with a 4-0 score line.
 
The Warriors put their depth and attacking options on display with seven different goal scorers in the match. Prunier finished with a brace while Jay Skelcher-Maxwell, Jesus Chillon, Flores Iraheta, Gamaonov, Galeb, and Fernandez Sassoni would all grab a goal for themselves.
 
Fernandez Sassoni led the team offensively grabbing three assists to go with his goal for a total of five points on the day. Lago contributed two assists followed by Daniel Perez and Flores Iraheta each with one.
 
Goalkeepers Alex Marciulonis and Felipe Freiria would combine for their second-straight shutout. Marciulonis would be in goal for the first 67 minutes of the match making four saves while Freiria added two saves.
 
Webber will be back in action this Tuesday, September 11, on the Warrior Grass Field as they host the Falcons of Florida College at 2 p.m. It will be the second of five-straight home games for the Warriors.
