BABSON PARK, Fla. (April 10, 2021) – In what was its 2021 regular-season finale and first ever Senior Day, the Webber International University men's lacrosse team saw its three-game home winning streak come to an end as it fell by a final score of 26-6 against No. 4 nationally-ranked Keiser University on Saturday on the Warrior Turf Field.

With its first loss at home since its season opener back on February 13, Webber fell to 3-6 overall and 3-2 at home. Keiser, meanwhile, improved to 6-2 overall despite not playing in nearly a month (since March 11).

Honored before the game as a part of the Senior Day festivities were No. 0 Alex Germilus and No. 40 Christopher Hilaire. In addition, the Warriors presented the family of Saxton Dunlap with his No. 2 jersey to honor his memory.

Alex West led Webber with two goals while Blake Nelson scored once and added two assists, and Chase Jackson had one goal and one assist.

Jack Ostrander finished with five groundballs and added two caused turnovers while Steven Landsman had three of each category.

In addition to suffering its largest margin of defeat in program history, Webber was 12-of-18 on clear attempts while Keiser was 15-for-16 and won 26 of the 35 faceoffs.

The Warriors' defense, unfortunately, gave up a season-high in goals allowed (26), in shots on goal (34), in opponents' shot percentage (.510), and on opponents' faceoff wins (26).

The first ever regular season for the Warriors is now over. By virtue of its 3-4 record in the Appalachian Athletic Conference this year, the Webber men's lacrosse team has clinched a spot in the AAC Postseason Tournament. The first round of the tournament is set for Friday, April 16, but the Warriors' opponent and the location of their first round game have still yet to be officially announced. It will come down to the final game of the season tomorrow (Apr. 11) between SCAD Savannah and Tennessee Wesleyan University to see if the Warriors are headed back to Athens, Tennessee, to play at TWU, or are headed to Williamsburg, Kentucky to play at the University of the Cumberlands.
