BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 6, 2021) – The Webber International University men's basketball team dropped the second and final game of its season series with Keiser University, falling 72-57 in what was also the Warriors' sixth straight loss against the Seahawks over the last three seasons.
Webber (9-18 overall, 5-12 The Sun Conference) never led in the game and trailed 17-6 five and a half minutes into the contest. Late in the first half, the Warriors trailed by as much as 14 points (40-26) before facing a 10-point deficit at halftime at 40-30.
Keiser (15-8, 11-6) shot a very efficient 15-of-24 (62.5 percent) from the field in the first half and was 50 percent (6-12) from 3-point range.
Seven minutes into the second half, Keiser led by 21 at 57-36 and never let the Warriors get within 12 the rest of the way.
Despite the loss,
Eddie Davis had a great game for the Warriors, finishing with a career-high 18 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field.
Deante Green matched his career-best with 12 points and added a career-high four steals while
Rasheem Etienne had nine points and three steals.
Next up for Webber will be a battle to avoid last place in The Sun Conference men's basketball standings as the Warriors host Southeastern University at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center. Southeastern, which started the day on Saturday one game behind the Warriors, defeated Webber 66-56 back on January 9 in Lakeland, Florida.
