WALESKA, Ga. (February 20, 2021) – The Webber International University men's volleyball team earned its first win in Mid-South Conference play so far this season with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-22) sweep on the road at Reinhardt University on Saturday.
Freshman
Peyten Young dished out 32 assists and added three blocks and a match-high seven digs; senior
Zachary Ayala led the team with 11 kills and a .400 attack percentage; and freshman
Gunter Perea Quevedo made his collegiate debut with 10 kills, a .818 attack percentage, and five blocks.
Daniel Suarez added five digs and
Luis Gustavo Silva had five digs and three service aces.
With the win, Webber improved to 2-0 all-time against Reinhardt, and also improved to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the Mid-South Conference so far this season. Reinhardt, meanwhile, which was coming off of three straight wins, including a 3-1 victory over Warner University two days prior, fell to 4-4 and 3-1.
Next up will be the Warriors' second trip to Life University in Marietta, Georgia, in a week as Webber completes in a POD Tournament at Life on Friday, February 26, and Saturday, February 27.
