Women’s basketball falls at home against No. 11 Southeastern

BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 11, 2021) – Senior Eletra Graham connected on seven 3-pointers and scored 21 points, accounting for nearly half of the Warriors' points against the No. 11-ranked team in the NAIA, Southeastern University, but in the end, the Webber International University women's basketball team fell 82-43 at home against the Fire on Thursday evening.

Despite the loss, Webber (15-7 overall, 11-6 The Sun Conference) started the game with a 6-4 lead and limited Southeastern (20-2, 18-0) to a 1-for-9 start from the field and an 0-5 start from three.

In the second quarter, however, the Warriors shot only 3-for-17 (17.6 percent) from the field, missed each of their five 3-point tries, and were outscored 20-7 to fall behind by 17 at halftime at 38-21.

At the break, Webber was being outrebounded 12-5 on the offensive glass, and was trailing 12-5 on second chance points, 20-10 on points in the paint, and 8-0 on fast break points.

In the end, Webber shot only 25.8 percent (17-66) from the field, was only 25 percent (7-28) from three, and was outscored 40-16 in the paint and 20-0 on fast break points.

With only three games left in the regular season, next up for the Warriors will be their third meeting this season, and second on the road, against Ave Maria University. Game time is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, in Ave Maria, Florida.
