BABSON PARK, Fla. (December 14, 2021) – After losing its last two games, the Webber International University women's basketball team got back to winning ways after defeating the Milligan University Buffaloes, 73-53, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Warriors (7-2 overall) played aggressive defense, forcing Milligan (8-5) into 21 turnovers and capitalizing on them with 29 points off turnovers. Webber was also dominant down low, scoring 40 points in the paint compared to the Buffaloes' 14.

Aside from Milligan taking the lead once early in the first quarter, the Warriors nearly led from start to finish in the game. Webber came out of the halftime break hot, shooting 57 percent and scoring 29 in total for the third quarter. They led by as many as 24 with just over one minute remaining in the third.

LeAndra Franklin led the Warriors with a season-high 18 points on 57 percent shooting while gathering four steals on the defensive end. She was followed by
Jaida Burgess with 11 points and
Deja King with 10. Franklin, Burgess, and
Samantha Pacheco led the team with four assists each while Burgess and
Amaya Small each had a team-high seven rebounds.

The Warriors now travel to Warner University to participate in the Warner Classic. First, Webber will face No. 8 Sterling College on Thursday, December 16, at 12 p.m. followed by Bethel College the very next day at 12 p.m.
