BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 9, 2021) - The Webber International University men's soccer team outlasted the Florida Memorial Lions, 1-0, in a Sun Conference match-up Saturday afternoon on the Warrior Grass Field.
Both the Warriors (8-2-2 overall, 2-1-2 SUN) and the Lions (1-5-1, 1-2-1) were strong defensively and battled all afternoon.

Alex Marciulonis, kept the Warriors level at 0-0 heading into the half.
The second half was more of the same as the two teams traded shots on goal until in the 78th minute when sophomore captain
Jay Skelcher-Maxwell converted a penalty kick to put the Warriors ahead.
"Very proud of a hard fought win," said Head Coach
Neil Cockburn. "It was a battle that could have gone either way. Great to see senior
Connor Anderson-Docherty put in a beautiful pass to freshman
Dozie Ozo-Udeze that drew the penalty to win the match."
The Warriors return to action on Wednesday, October 13, when they travel to Ave Maria University to take on the Gyrenes. The Warriors return home on October 18 to take on the Bobcats of St. Thomas University who are currently ranked 8th in the latest poll. Game time is slated for 1:30 p.m. on the Warrior Grass Field.
