LAKE WALES, Fla. (September 15, 2020) – At 7 p.m. tomorrow on Wednesday, September 16, the Webber International University women's volleyball team will take on its Crooked Lake rival Warner University on the road in what has been named The Sun Conference's Women's Volleyball Game of the Week.

Webber, coming off of two sweeps over Trinity Baptist College and Trinity College (Fla.) last Saturday, September 12, will enter the matchup 2-1 overall while Warner will be playing in its 2020 season opener.

It will be the second Sun Conference match of the season for the Warriors after Webber fell 3-1 at home last Wednesday, September 9, against Southeastern University, who was picked to finish third in The Sun Conference preseason poll. Each of the four sets in that game were decided by four points or less while each of the first three sets featured ties at 19-19 or later.

Webber's Head Women's Volleyball Coach Gretchen Hand said, "Every year, the Webber-Warner matchups are highly competitive, and we expect nothing less this time around. However, I believe it is important to recognize that our competition is within ourselves, and if we take care of our side of things, we are very tough to beat."

The Warriors are currently being paced in kills by freshman Nora Burgos-Heredia with 20 kills, good for an average of 2.22 kills per set, and all to go along with a very strong .581 attack percentage. Junior Camryn Brown leads in assists with 33, freshman Kiersten Tisdale leads in digs with 28, and senior Svenja Koenig leads with eight blocks.

As a team, the Warriors are currently ranked first in the NAIA in service aces per set (4.3), and are third in total service aces (43), 16th in blocks per set (2.0), and 27th in total blocks (20).

Tisdale is second in the nation in service aces per set (1.13) and Amanda Vega is second in total service aces (13) while Madelyn Glouner is 21st in service aces per set (0.67) and Koenig is 30th in blocks per set (1.00).
