BABSON PARK, Fla. (September 12, 2020) – The Webber International University women's volleyball team picked up its first two wins of the 2020 season inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center on Saturday evening, defeating Trinity Baptist College 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-14) first followed by a 3-0 (25-9, 25-8, 26-24) victory over Trinity College (Fla.) in the nightcap.
Against Trinity Baptist, Webber (2-1 overall) had three players finish with five or more kills while hitting at least .500 percent on attacks. Leading the way was freshman middle hitter
Nora Burgos-Heredia with nine kills on a .533 attack percentage, followed by
Madelyn Glouner with seven kills and a .500 attack percentage, and
Svenja Koenig with five kills and a 1.000 percentage.
In addition to leading the Warriors with 16 assists, junior
Amanda Vega added an incredible nine service aces in what was her debut in a Webber uniform. Fellow-junior
Camryn Brown added 14 assists for her second straight match with double-digit helpers, and freshman
Kiersten Tisdale had 10 digs for her second straight double-digit effort in the category.

In all against the Eagles, Webber led in kills 33-9, assists 32-9, aces 18-5 and attack percentage .257 to -.075.
Against Trinity College, Burgos-Heredia and Vega again shined as Burgos-Heredia had five kills, a .833 attack percentage and four blocks in only two sets while Vega had 12 digs, 11 assists and four more service aces. Sophomore
Amy Moseley was great as well, adding 10 digs.
In all against the Tigers, the Warriors led in blocks 10-0, kills 29-15, aces 11-7, assists 25-14 and attack percentage .207 to -.096.
In all, 19 Warriors entered the court against TBC while an incredible 24 saw action against Trinity College.

"This is the first time we have been able to see all of our athletes compete," said Head Coach
Gretchen Hand. "It was nice to see the depth that our program has, and we look forward to continuing to grow and improve as our season continues."
Next up, Webber women's volleyball will return to Sun Conference play seeking its first conference victory of the season as the Warriors take on Crooked Lake rival Warner University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, in Lake Wales, Florida.
