BRADENTON, Fla. (March 18, 2020) – Back on Thursday, March 12, before the end of the 2020 spring sports season was announced by the NAIA, the No. 24 Webber International University men's golf team competed at the Waterlefe Golf and River Club in Bradenton, Florida, in a two-man best ball match play team event against Olivet College.
In action for the Warriors were three seniors,
Alberto Uriach,
George Daniels and
Noah Doucette, along with junior
Daniel Lapp.
"This is a unique event that alows the players to have some fun but still feel the pressure of the competition," said Head Coach
Nancy Nichols."
Uriach and Lapp defeated Nicholas Hoffman and Cameron Lemon with a score of 1-up.
Daniels and Doucette defeated Wes Darrow and Isiah Strand with a score of 5-4.
The final team score was Webber 2 and Olivet 0.
With all remaining spring sports contests cancelled in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, these are the final results to be reported from Webber's spring athletics season.
"It's a shame that our spring season has been shut down, but it is also understandable," added Nichols. "Right now my focus is supporting our Webber golfers trying to get home to their families."
