Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Webber tennis returns from three-day trip in Miami area

MIAMI, Fla. (February 18, 2019) – The Webber International University men's and women's tennis teams spent their President's Day weekend in the Miami, Florida, area playing three of the toughest teams not just in the state of Florida, but in the entire picture of collegiate tennis. In both men's and women's action, Webber fell to one of the best teams in the NJCAA, ASA College (Miami), 9-0, on Friday, and then fell to the second-ranked team in the NAIA, Keiser University, 9-0, the next day on Saturday. On Sunday, the Webber men dropped a 6-1 decision to the third-ranked team in NCAA Division-II, Lynn University, while the Webber women fell 7-0 to a Lynn team that is ranked No. 5 in NCAA D-II on the women's side.

"Although we didn't win any of the matches, we came away with some valuable match experience and toughness," said Head Tennis Coach Otis Cutshaw. "Playing three top-five nationally ranked teams in three days isn't an easy task, but it showed me what we need to work on to improve. We did take a point in our last match vs Lynn as Christof Buehler played a great match for us to end on a positive note and for us to build off of for this coming week."
