BABSON PARK, Fla. (November 8, 2019) – The 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Soccer Teams were released on Thursday, November 7, and included Webber International University sophomore defender Elies Sebbouh as an NAIA All-District I selection.

Sebbouh, who is a native of Paris, France, currently has a 3.91 cumulative grade point average in the management program at Webber.

Sebbouh started in all 16 matches for the Warriors' men's soccer team in 2019 and finished fourth on the team in points (5) after netting two goals and adding an assist.

"I am very proud of Elies," said Head Men's Soccer Coach Neil Cockburn. "He only played one game last year and became a starting right back this year. His hard work on and off the field is a great example to all young student-athletes."

As a team, the Warriors finished the year 9-7 overall and reached their most wins in a single season since 2013 (six years). A big part of that was defense as Webber had five shutouts and held its opponents to one goal or less 10 times.

In addition to making the dean's list during the fall of 2018, Sebbouh has helped local religious groups in his home country of France by setting up and running various events and community service projects.

The 2019 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
