BABSON PARK, Fla. (November 15, 2019) – The 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District Football Teams were released on Thursday, November 14, and included Webber International University sophomore wide receiver
Frederick Curry Jr. as an NAIA All-District I selection.
Curry Jr., who is from Jacksonville, Florida, currently has a 3.38 grade point average as a finance major at Webber.
As a freshman in 2018, Curry Jr. earned the top-freshman GPA award for Webber football at the team's postseason awards banquet. Now, he has the highest GPA on the entire football team as only a sophomore.
Curry Jr. currently has six catches on the season tallying 35 yards. His season-long catch of eight yards came last time out at No. 18 Southeastern University on November 2 during a game in which he finished with two grabs for a season-high 14 yards.
He has a combined four catches for 26 yards over Webber's last three games heading into Senior Day.

Kelly Scott said of Curry Jr., "Freddy is a great young man who understands the importance of academics while developing his athletic ability."

Colin Doran had this to say, "Fred is a hard worker, and I'm extremely proud of him for earning this recognition. His intelligence and understanding of the offense allows him to be put in whatever spot we need him at. He is a young man with a bright future both on and off the field."
The 2019 Academic All-District Football Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and Second-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced December 9-12.
