BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 4, 2019) – After nearly four months of construction and work, the new multi-purpose Warrior Turf Field on the campus of Webber International University is ready for varsity competition.

It all starts on Saturday, October 5, 2019, as the Warriors' football team opens up Mid-South Conference Sun Division play against St. Thomas University at 1:30 p.m.

Before the game, there will a field dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony with the Webber International University board members at 1 p.m.

Webber football is currently 1-2 on the season with both loses coming on the road against top-14 nationally-ranked teams while St. Thomas is also 1-2 in what is their first ever season of varsity football competition. Both of Webber's and St. Thomas' wins so far in 2019 have come over Union College (Ky.) with the Warriors taking down the Bulldogs 42-18 on Saturday 7 and the Bobcats winning 45-20 a week later on September 14.

"We are really excited about the opportunity to play on campus and for the start of our conference schedule," spoke Head Coach Kelly Scott.



Temporary bleachers, a press box and a scoreboard have all been installed at the new Warrior Turf Field, yet fans are still encouraged to bring any lawn chairs or other seating options that they can.

Webber's admissions policy for home games will remain a cash only operation. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for seniors/youth while parking is $5 per vehicle. Admission will remain free for children under six and for Webber students, faculty and staff with their ID. No tobacco or alcohol is allowed at any athletic events held at Webber International University, and no dogs will be allowed unless a seeing eye dog.
