THOMASVILLE, Ga. (September 26, 2018) – The Webber International University men's soccer team was held to only three shots and one corner kick opportunity in a 1-0 loss to Thomas University on Wednesday in Thomasville, Georgia.
It was another one-goal decision as none of the Warriors matches so far in 2018 have been decided by more than one goal.
After Webber's
Thomas Debladis made seven saves in the first half, the deciding goal for the Night Hawks came only one and a half minutes into the second half.
In all, Thomas fired 12 shots in the first 45 minutes and finished with 20 total attempts, half of which were on goal.
Debladis would go on to finish with nine saves.
Bryan Meija had two of Webber's shot attempts and
Mateo Sassoni had the other.
The Warriors fell to 4-3-2 overall and 1-2-0 in The Sun Conference while the Night Hawks remained undefeated in the conference at 3-0 and improved to 4-3-1 overall.
Webber will now look to benefit from a three-match home stand starting on Saturday, September 29, against rival Warner University at 10 a.m. on Warrior Field. After an early one-goal advantage for the Warriors, Warner would come back to defeat Webber 2-1 in the first meeting between the two teams back in mid-September.
