LAKE WALES, Fla. (September 22, 2018) – The Webber International University women's soccer team lost to Crooked Lake rival, Warner University, 2-0 on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors allowed an early goal at the 1:55 mark of the match and then made a defensive error which allowed the Royals to capitalize on a penalty kick in the second half.
The Webber offense could not get anything going as it was held to six total shots.
Megan Warner led the team in shots with three as
Lauren Caffee,
Leah Borders and
Sidney Usina each added one attempt.
Goalkeeper
Summer Simpson had eight saves, which is tied for the second most of her young freshman season.
Webber now sits at 3-4 overall and 1-1 in The Sun Conference while Warner improves to 5-2-1 and 2-0.

Brian Fallon has this to say after the match "Warner played a very disciplined game, one that obviously they had prepared for. Congratulations to them. Clearly, as we grow as a team we will get better. It is just time and maturity that is holding us back."
Next up, Webber will head to Lakeland, Florida, to face No. 4-ranked Southeastern University at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26.
