2018 Lake Caloosa Clash to be played in Lakeland

LAKELAND, Fla. (October 22, 2018) – Webber International University's football game scheduled for Saturday, October 27, at 1:30 p.m. against Warner University has been moved from Legion Field in Lake Wales, Florida, to Lakeland Christian High School in Lakeland, Florida.

Both teams will be looking for their first Mid-South Conference Sun Division win. The Warriors currently hold an overall record of 4-3 and a divisional record of 0-3 while Warner is still searching for its first win of 2018 at 0-7 and 0-3. Webber is currently 2-1 on the road.

Overall on the season, Webber leads Warner in rushing yards (1,484-897), total yards (2,306-1,992), average yards (329.4-284.6) and rushing touchdowns (14-8).

The strong Webber defense will enter the matchup ranking 10th in sacks (3.1), 10th in total defense per game (288.6) and 10th in scoring defense per game (16.00). The Warriors are also 18th in pass defense per game (166.6) and are 21st in rushing defense per game (122.0).

Warner, meanwhile, is currently ninth in the NAIA in sacks against (9.0) and is allowing opponents to convert 44.4 percent of the time on fourth down while also allowing teams to score over 42 points per contest. The fewest points the Royals have allowed so far in 2018 is 27 in its last outing at Keiser University.

Offensively, the Warriors are currently outscoring teams 25.86 to 16 points a game (181-112 overall) and are outrushing the opposition 212 to 122 yards a game. The 212 rushing yards per contest currently ranks 20th in the NAIA.

Last season, Webber defeated Warner 18-14 in a comeback effort on the Warriors' Senior Day. Webber scored 15 unanswered points to win and had big performances from each of its top three wide receivers who are still staring on the 2018 squad. Jeremiah Lucas finished with eight catches for 81 yards, Timothy Miller added six catches for 49 yards, and Jeremiah Harris had four catches for 43 yards.

The Warriors are currently 3-2 all-time against the Royals with a 23-0 win in Warner's inaugural season in 2013. In 2015, Webber was victorious over Warner by just three points, 27-24.
