ST. LEO, Fla. (October 10, 2018) – For the third time in 2018, the Webber International University women's soccer team suited up to play at an NCAA Division-II opponent. The Warriors fell 6-1 to Saint Leo University on Wednesday.
In her first career start in goal,
Alyssa Rodriguez finished with a very impressive 12 saves. It was the most saves in a single match by any Webber goalie so far during the current women's soccer season.
Leah Borders led Webber with three total shot attempts, two on goal, and
Francesca Mascali added two shots.
Victoria Garcia,
Megan Warner,
Hannah Vigotty,
Sidney Usina and
Lauren Caffee each added another shot while Usina's ended up being a goal in the 75th minute to get the Warriors on the board.
It was the second goal of the season for Usina, a freshman from St. Johns, Florida.
The Warriors are now 3-8 on the season while Saint Leo improves to 3-7-1.
