BABSON PARK, Fla. (January 23, 2018) – The Webber International University's men's and women's basketball home games against Crooked Lake rival Warner University, scheduled for Saturday, January 27, have been moved up a half an hour to be played at 1:30 p.m. for the women's game and 3:30 p.m. for the men's.
The games will still take place inside the newly renovated Sabbagh Athletic Center on Webber's campus in Babson Park, Florida.
The featured promotion this weekend will be a "White Out" as Warrior fans are encouraged to wear their white t-shirts.
The Webber men's basketball team (8-9 overall, 5-6 TSC) fell to Warner (15-7, 7-4), ranked No. 24 at the time, by 12, 97-85, during the first meeting between the Warriors and the Royals back on December 2, 2017. Since then, Webber has won four conference games and has risen to sixth place in The Sun Conference standings, while Warner is third.
On the women's side, both Webber (7-14, 2-9) and Warner (9-12, 2-9) are tied for seventh in The Sun Conference after the Royals edged the Warriors by seven, 78-71, during their first meeting.
This weekend's games are very important not only due to the rivalry between the two schools, but because by the end of the regular season, the top six teams in both the men's and women's standings will move on to the postseason and the TSC Tournament, set to begin on February 20 for the women and February 22 for the men.
