BABSON PARK, Fla. (November 14, 2017) – The 38th annual NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship bracket has been set, and Webber International University will play its opening-round match against Lourdes University on Saturday, November 18, in Sylvania, Ohio. The start time for the match will be 7 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Webber (25-5 overall, 14-2 The Sun Conference) was selected to face the Gray Wolves (21-11) after winning the 2017 Sun Conference Tournament championship and receiving an automatic bid to the national stage. This season has seen the Warriors go on a four-match winning streak four times, including their current six-match winning streak, kick off conference action with seven straight wins, and take down the No. 19 ranked team in the country.

Webber enters the National Tournament in 2017 after defeating Saint Thomas University in four sets in the Sun Conference Tournament Championship match. The Warriors and the Bobcats split their two matches during the regular season, with both teams handing the other their first conference defeats of the season.

This is the second national championship appearance in as many years for Webber, and is the Warriors third appearance overall. The Warriors fell three sets to one to the University of Mobile in the NAIA Opening Round in 2016.

After beginning the season picked to finish second in The Sun Conference in the preseason, Webber made an appearance in the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 poll on October 3 by receiving votes.

The Gray Wolves, who entered the season ranked No. 22 in the NAIA preseason coaches' poll, slipped out of the top 25 in the first regular-season edition of the coaches' poll but still finished as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament runner-up. Like Webber, Lourdes was selected second in its conference preseason poll. 2017 marks the fourth appearance overall and third straight for Lourdes.

The Warriors and the Gray Wolves had one common opponent during the regular season, the University of Saint Francis. Webber was victorious over the Fighting Saints (Ill.) in four sets on October 15 in Babson Park, Florida, while the Gray Wolves fell to Saint Francis in five sets, dropping the final frame 17-15, early in the season on September 1.

The winner of the Webber/Lourdes match will advance to the pool play round, which is set to be held from Tuesday, November 28, through Thursday, November 30, at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
