Lady Warriors Sweep USCAA #1 Power Ranked Florida National University 3-0

Box Score HIALEAH, Fla. – The Webber International University Lady Warriors traveled to Hialeah, Florida to take on the Florida National University Conquistadors. FNU brought in a 19 game winning streak with a 21-1 record overall and the #1 power ranking in the USCAA. Webber brought in an 8 game win streak of their own with a 14-1 record and 7 out of 8 sweeps. The Lady Warriors conquered the Conquistadors 25-14, 25-21, 25-19. This takes their record to 15-1 and they have now won 45 of their 52 sets on the season.


Tessa Colden had a double-double on the night with 16 kills a .437 hitting percentage and 14 digs. Nikki McDaniel continued her offensive run with another 11 kills and she had 9 digs. Carlee Baxter registered 30 assists on the night and the Sun Conference defender of the week Michelle Calderon added another 16 digs to her total with 2 serving aces. Brianna Baez was a wall on the front line as she put up 5 block assists. Kyleigh Stottlemyer aided Baez on the front with 3 block assists of her own.


The Lady Warriors ended FNU's 19 game win streak and extended their own to 9 in a row. "These ladies are playing phenomenal volleyball and are having a lot of fun doing it" said Kyle Blue, the sport information director at Webber. They take their road trip next to Johnson & Wales University tomorrow, Saturday the 1st of October, with the first serve scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in the Sun Conference contest. Go Warriors!!!
