Women’s Basketball Falls to Thomas, 62-55

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Webber International University closed out the 2015-16 season with a road match against Thomas University, Wednesday. The Warriors fought hard but eventually fell to the Night Hawks, 62-55.

Quanthavia Stalworth led the team with 18 points, adding six rebounds and a block. Mar'Lisa Braxton netted 14 points, grabbed seven rebounds and registered four steals against Thomas.

Webber International came out fast in the first quarter, taking a quick 5-0 advantage. Midway through the first, Thomas fought back taking the lead, 11-10. The Night Hawks would close out the quarter on a 10-2 run, pushing its advantage to 15-12.

The Warriors kept things close throughout the second quarter but would go into halftime down, 28-26.

The third quarter would see the Night Hawks lead throughout. Down by 10, Webber International closed out the quarter with a 9-2 run, cutting the Thomas advantage to 42-39.

Webber International put forth a good effort in the final period but could not claw back into the game, eventually falling to the Night Hawks, 62-57.
