Box Score THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Webber International University men's basketball visited Thomas University, Wednesday, in the final game of the 2015-16 season. The Warriors went into halftime down by 15 points but responded well in the second half, eventually winning out, 83-80.
Reigning NAIA D-II Player of the Week, Dewaine Lyals continues to stack the stat sheet. Lyals netted 31 points, his third 30-point game in the last four contests, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots.
The early goings of the first half were tightly contested, with the Warriors taking a narrow, 14-13, lead after five minutes of action. Thomas responded right away with a 9-2 run, pushing ahead by six points.
After retaking the lead, the Night Hawks did not let up, going up by as much as 15, sending Webber International into halftime down, 52-37.
Lyals opened the second half with a one-man 11-point run, kick starting the Warriors comeback bid.
Strong defense and efficient offense from the Warriors eventually paid off when Webber International finally erased its 15-point deficit, tying the game up, 74-74, with three minutes left to play.
With a only a one-point advantage, the Warriors free throw shooting would fend off the Night Hawks as Webber International came out victorious, 83-80.
