Men’s Soccer Suffers Lose to Eckerd

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Webber International University men's soccer made the short trip to St. Petersburg, Florida, Wednesday night, to take on Eckerd College. The Warriors struggled to gain a foothold in the match, falling to the Tritons, 3-0.

The first half saw Webber International create a multitude of chances. The Warriors fired four shots in the first half, each narrowly missing the target. The score was even with 12 minutes to play in the half, when Eckerd went on the offensive, scoring three goals. When the whistle blew for halftime, the Tritons led Webber International, 3-0.

Webber International came out fast in the second half, creating three chances, but could not get on the board. After falling behind 5-0, Webber International went down a man after Euan Rodgers received his second yellow of the match. With only ten men, the Warriors were unable to get back into the game.

The Warriors are back in action Saturday, September 19 at 3:30 p.m. when they welcome Florida National to Babson Park.
