BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University men's soccer is slated to play two matches this week. The Warriors open the week, Wednesday, September 16 at 4:30 p.m. at Eckerd. Webber International returns home, Saturday, September 19 at 3:30 p.m. to face Florida National University.
Fast Out the GateThe Warriors notched their first win of 2015 last week, defeating Florida College, 4-0.
On offense, new arrivals
Ivan Bakovic and
Sean Whalen combined for three goals and one assist. Bakovic was inches away from posting a hat trick in his Warriors debut, when a well-struck free kick pinged off the goal post late in the game.
The defense was also strong against the Falcons. The backline held Florida College in check, while sophomore keeper
Randy Chesson made nine saves to preserve the shutout.
About EckerdThe Tritons enter the week with a 2-0 record. Eckerd opened the season with a victory over Warner, 2-1, defeating the Royals with a 90th minute game-winner. The Tritons followed that performance with a, 1-0, shutout of the University of North Georgia.
The freshman duo of John Badu-Koomson and Westleigh Rush has powered Eckerd's offense, combing for a goal, an assist and eight shots on goal.

LIVE STATSAbout Florida NationalThe Conquistadors hold a 1-3-5 record in 2015. This is the debut season for Florida National men's soccer. The Conquistadors picked up a victory in the programs inaugural match, taking out Florida Memorial, 1-0. Florida National has struggled since the historic win, losing three matches and playing to five draws.
